A Federal Consistency Certification has been submitted to the DNREC Coastal Management Program (DCMP) for the following: Delaware Electric Cooperative Expansion (2025.0019)
Delaware Electric Cooperative, Inc. (DEC) proposes to utilize a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nationwide Permit 39 to expand the DEC headquarters onto 9.3 acres of agricultural land located to the west of Cart Branch Rd, approximately 300 feet north of the intersection with Adams Rd, in Greenwood, Sussex County, DE. The proposed expansion includes the filling of 0.27 acres of farmed emergent wetland, placement of 0.01 acres of rip rap in the Grubby Neck Prong, and the construction of a 0.3-acre emergent wetland as compensatory mitigation. The proposed activity is subject to review for consistency under the policies of the DNREC DCMP.
