The Delaware Brownfields Marketplace lists brownfield sites in Delaware that are available for potential redevelopment. Developers may apply for grants to investigate and clean up these properties and receive liability protection for past environmental contamination.
Brownfields are properties whose expansion, redevelopment or reuse may be hindered by a reasonable belief that they could be environmentally contaminated. The Brownfield Marketplace is an inventory of certified brownfields and possible brownfield properties. It helps potential developers locate and research available properties.
The Marketplace contains enough details about each property to improve transparency of the site’s characteristics, decrease perceived risk in the decision-making process and improve the potential for a successful redevelopment match.
For more information on the Brownfields Development Program please visit de.gov/brownfields or contact the Remediation Section at 302-395-2600.
